Our client is a leading, private equity-backed, the business that is recognised as a leader in its field Experiencing rapid organic growth and pursuing relevant acquisition targets this company is in a strong forward trajectory. As part of an exciting period for the finance function, we are looking for an experienced tax professional to bring the function in-house for the first time and develop the process and provide an internal source of advice to the business.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of the group's annual income tax returns
  • Preparation of the group’s indirect tax lodgements, including BAS, PAYG, FBT, Stamp duty and Payroll tax
  • Provide tax advice and be up to date with tax regulations/legislations
  • Liaise with Auditors, the ATO and external tax advisers
  • Review contractual documents and agreements to understand tax implications
  • Providing tax advisory services to all business functions as required
  • Manage tax compliance risk across the Group
  • Working collaboratively with all Finance functions and the wider business
Moreover, you will ensure that all lodgements are made accurately and on time; you will be able to introduce automation within the lodgement processes and you will be responsible for all key tax issues, identify any areas of risk, and implement to effectively manage compliance risks.
 
Preferred profile:
  • Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA), Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) or have a Masters in Taxation
  • Experience within the tax or business services function of a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax legislation and Australian International Financial Reporting Standards (AIFRS)
  • Tax effect accounting skills
  • Experience with tax and GST consolidated groups
