- Technical Superintendent - Maritime Industry Required
- Townsville Location - Travel Required
- $150,000 plus superannuation and benefits
Our client is a leading global player in the Maritime industry with a strong Australian Footprint. They require an experienced Technical Superintendent to manage fleet across 3 locations in North Queensland. The role will be base residentially in Townsville but will also cover Mackay and Weipa, where you will be required to work for 2 weeks in 4 on a FIFO basis.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and execute the daily running maintenance within budget on board vessels
- Monitor and follow up on the planned maintenance system
- Generate and approve purchase orders and requisitions and receive and inspect goods delivered
- Supervise, coach and instruct Chief Engineers if and when required to ensure smooth and professional on-board technical management
- Undertake vessel inspections and report on the status of vessels to the Regional Technical Manager
- Investigate and analyse root causes of defects and take timely corrective and preventative actions
- Arrange surveys with flag state and classification authorities and other relevant parties
- Ensure full compliance of vessel certifications with flag state and class requirements
- Plan, coordinate and execute dry dockings in line with quality standards, agreed budgets and timelines
- Supervise and evaluate activities and performance of 3rd party contractors and vendors
- Ensure damages to be surveyed and repaired in close consultation with classification societies and the insurance department
- Optimise and implement technical (new Build standards)
- Maintain daily email communication with assigned vessel
You will hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and have a track record in Mechanical or Maritime Engineering or Naval Architecture. Moreover, you will have a background as a Chief Engineer or First Engineer on vessels above 6000 BHP. You will be able to demonstrate exceptional Project Management skills and be a team player with a collaborative approach and a track record of maintaining high standards and demonstrating a strong work ethic.
