Job Description
We are looking for a Senior GIS Analyst to work with one of the leading innovative global organisations that influences the future of connected cars, IoT, autonomous driving and smart cities. As a Snr GIS Analyst you will be contributing to the collection and verification of Map Features for expansion and maintenance of content products for a defined geographic area by supporting the operational plan defined for the assigned territory.
You'll be responsible for;
- Supporting the Team Lead in supervising and supporting a group of junior team members
- Occasionally supervise contractors
- Planning, scheduling and potentially perform field data collection as required, depending on the requirements set by the sub-region. Actively look for, interpret and act upon change signals in local areas of responsibility as well as constantly query and draw intelligence from centrally generated change detection toolsets
- Actively follow current trends and changes in GIS space
- Contribute to the integration of a range of internal and external sources into the client's location data platform (consist of a variety of different data formats and feature types such as Points of Interest and Road Features)
- Evaluating, analysing and transforming datasets prior to integration in accordance with client's specifications to help build and maintain our digital map products
- Use your strong technical and analytical skills to identify and implement automation opportunities that increases efficiency of existing data cleansing, transformation and reporting processes
- Applying your local knowledge to aid decision making within the context of the database
- Ensuring accurate representation in the database in a defined geographic area including monitoring and interpretation of contextual local change detection signals
- Planning, executing and providing support for projects to be undertaken by Global Production Operations, which often deal with aspects of complex coding and analysis
- Creating or reviewing complex work instructions designed to communicate project requirements
- Utilising software such as ArcGIS and FME to conduct high-level analysis and verification of spatial data
- Implementing effective communication and information strategies with the team and its stakeholders
- Contribute to resource planning and high-level team coordination activities with the Team Lead
What you'll have;
- Bachelor's degree either in GIS/Geography, Business, Science, Technology or similar field
- Around 4+ years of related work experience.
- Local geographic knowledge/affinity/contextual understanding/cultural awareness
- Experience in use of GIS software such as ArcGIS/MapInfo in a professional capacity
- Python programming experience (preferred)
- FME or data manipulation/integration/extraction process modelling experience desirable
- Proficiency in MS Office specifically with Excel and Word
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel within and outside project coverage area
