Job Description

  • $90,000 to $110,000 per annum (plus superannuation)
Talent Web is recruiting a Group Management Accountant role for a large, complex, privately held group of companies.  The role requires both a strong technical accounting and analytic skillset with an understanding of a large, complex group consolidation.  You will also need to be an exceptional communicator who can engage and influence senior stakeholders (both financial and non-financial stakeholders).
Main responsibilities include:
  • Monthly reporting to management, including the review and consolidation of all business units across the group as well as providing commentary to the Executive Leadership Team
  • Provide value add reporting, including benchmarking and reporting improvement initiatives
  • Bank covenant reporting on a quarterly, half-yearly and annual basis
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Assist Group Financial Controller with high-level cash management
  • Taxation compliance for the group including indirect & income taxes (FBT, BAS), R & D claims, payroll tax, tax consolidations across a number of different tax groups
  • Assistance with completion of audit requirements
  • Year-end statutory reporting for the group
  • Providing advice to the business units on all facets of accounting
  • Assist in documentation of group accounting policy
  • Identification and assessment of future business opportunities and improvements (may include assistance with due diligence activities from time to time)
  • Assistance in management of arranging financing of capital acquisitions across the group
  • Further commercial responsibilities
  • Ad Hoc projects for the Executive Leadership Team
The role requires
  • A qualified, technically strong Chartered Accountant who has trained in a Big 4 audit environment
  • Demonstrable experience in auditing or financial statement preparation within large and complex consolidated groups, ideally within the manufacturing and/or distribution sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present to internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrable ability to be strategic and apply technical accounting knowledge to a commercial context.
