Job Description

This position of Functional Consultant exists within a faith based NGO. You have the opportunity to join a team with an autonomous manager in an organisation which places an emphasis on W/L balance.

Our client provides leadership and service to schools, facilitating the work of school principals and staff, parents and parish priests in providing quality education to 17,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 enrolled in our schools.

In 2017 a new project was initiated as part of a broader program of work involving sites in four states and territories. This program includes the implementation of a Student Information System and a Financial Management System.

The first component, the Student Management System is well underway, and roll-out to all primary schools will be completed by the end of the calendar year.

The second stage of the project is the implementation of the Financials module of TechnologyOne's CI Anywhere, impacting office staff as well as staff in 44 schools. Additional TechnologyOne modules will follow, including: Asset Management and Supply Chain.

The Functional Consultant will report to the Project Manager of the Project and have frequent interactions with key members of the Financial Services Team.

We Seek

This is an opportunity for a self-driven, organised and tenacious consultant who can influence relationships and drive an outcome. Aside from a requirement for strong knowledge of the TechnologyOne Finance module, someone with strong Asset Management and Procurement module experience would be looked upon favorably.

The role of Functional Consultant will play a part in contributing to discussion around an appropriate financial deployment model, based on previous experience of implementing TechnologyOne i.e. centralized, de-centralized or hybrid solution for the organisation. As Functional Consultant, you will

work closely with IT shared services to obtain and correctly populate a number of templates in order to kick the project off. The role may involve intermittent travel to schools in the Broken Bay region which spans the Central Coast down to Northbridge and west to Carlingford.

As Functional Consultant, you will be expected to work with a number of stakeholders including:

  • Head of Finance
  • Project Manager

We are seeking someone with strong relationship management skills who can use logic based discussion to influence outcomes. We need someone who has strong project discipline and who can self-direct and keep themselves organised and on-track. We are also seeking someone that can relay technical information to non-technical staff in language and manner that they understand.

Depending on the deployment solution that is adopted, this person may also be required to develop and customize training guides and other support material and to then deliver training to small work groups. In addition to all of this, we are seeking someone that can document and track progress in an effort to keep everyone up to speed.

Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of and empathy with the Catholic Mission of the Diocese of Broken Bay
