Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the key objective of this role is to oversee the regulatory
change framework for the Retirement and Superannuation Solutions business and enable the
business to achieve its business objectives within risk and compliance management
frameworks and risk appetite. A key feature of this role is monitoring the regulatory environment
for changes impacting Retirement and Superannuation Solutions business, working
with the business to undertake business impact assessments, interpret relevant requirements
and providing timely and accurate advice to enable the business to implement changes
necessary to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role will have
extensive stakeholder management and interaction with internal and external stakeholders,
application of technical expertise and play a pivotal role in the identification, assessment and
mitigation of strategic, operational and regulatory compliance risks.
Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
Drive the development and implementation of the Group risk management and
compliance frameworks, policies, standards, processes and procedures.
Oversee the regulatory change process in accordance with an established
regulatory change framework, relevant regulatory change committees and working
Assist the Retirement and Superannuation Solutions business to identify, mitigate, and
manage risks associated with regulatory change, also ensuring frequent business
interaction, which monitors any changes in its risk environment.
Identify, analyse, and assess the impact of regulatory changes to the Retirement and
Superannuation Solutions business, including people, processes and technology.
Provide timely and accurate advice on compliance and regulatory matters to internal and
external stakeholders, including Retirement and Superannuation Solutions clients.
Maintain and enhance compliance management framework, including
register of regulatory compliance obligations.
Compile, assess, and report on compliance and regulatory change matters to
management, relevant business risk committee(s) and Boards, as required.
Work collaboratively with the broader Group Risk & Compliance team, Line 1
Risk/Operational Integrity teams and other Group Functions to support the business to
embed an effective risk culture.
Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including internal, clients,
regulators and industry bodies
Experience & Personal Attributes
Qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law or a related field are desirable but not
essential, combined with ongoing professional development, such as post-graduate or
Practical and demonstrated experience within the superannuation industry in Australia
Practical experience with risk and compliance management frameworks within the
Australian financial services industry
Understanding of the regulatory environment, policy development and key legislation
relevant to the superannuation industry in Australia, including but not limited to
Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act, Corporations Act, AML/CTF Act and Privacy
Act, associated regulations and regulatory guides
Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and engagement skills with
demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels
