Job Description

It is an exciting time to join our client, a Global Real Estate business that is expanding their property portfolio and cementing their position as industry leaders. They are seeking an experienced Property Lawyer to join their collaborative and high performing Sydney team as a Legal Associate specialising in retail leasing.

Reporting into the State Legal Advisor this role will be an integral part of the business, responsible for assisting in the managing, negotiating and executing the documents associated with retail lease agreements on behalf of the company.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Lease Administration, Leasing and Legal teams within the business while managing multiple external stakeholders.

Some key responsibilities include:

* Provide legal advice and technical expertise in negotiation of lease documents
* Review drafts, terms and letter of offer documentation
* Negotiate and manage the lease negotiations for complex leasing matters
* Provide legal advice to the broader leasing team
* Mentor Lease Administrators
* Assist relationship management with external solicitors alongside the Legal Advisor

The right person will have:

* Law degree
* 3-4 years' post admission experience in retail leasing or commercial property sector
* Strong knowledge of retail legislation and a passion to persue this sector
* Practising certificate
* The ability to work in a high volume environment
* Exceptional stakeholder management, influential and relationship skills
* High attention to detail and exceptionally organised
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
