What is a Certified B Corp?

Certified B Corporations (B Corps) are part of an initiative from B Lab, a non-profit that serves a global movement of people using profits and growth as a means to a greater end: positive impacts for their employees, economies, communities, and the environment.

The B Corp community works toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities and the creation of high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose.

At the time of its announcement, TalentWeb became the first recruitment agency to achieve certification as a B Corporation in NSW. We join more than 3,000 B Corps worldwide in approximately 150 industries, including:

B Corporations (or B Corps) are reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit.

TalentWeb has met rigorous social and environmental standards in this certification, representing our commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit. The thorough B Corp assessment measured TalentWeb’s social and environmental performance, taking into consideration areas such as ethical choices, carbon emissions, diversity in the workplace and transparency.

As a B Corp-certified business, we are now legally required to consider the impact of our decisions on our environment, workers, suppliers and the community. It is a very holistic measure of the very foundations of our business – in fact at an operational level, we scored 20 points above the industry average.

The B Corp Declaration of Interdependence

  • We envision a global economy that uses business as a force for good.

  • This economy is comprised of a new type of corporation - the B Corporation - which is purpose-driven and creates benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders.

  • As B Corporations and leaders of this emerging economy, we believe:

    • That we must be the change we seek in the world.

    • That all business ought to be conducted as if people and place mattered.

    • That, through their products, practices, and profits, businesses should aspire to do no harm and benefit all.

    • To do so requires that we act with the understanding that we are each dependent upon another and thus responsible for each other and future generations.

Together, we’re accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
