{"id":2677,"date":"2023-12-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/talent-web.applyflow.site\/so-you-want-a-change\/"},"modified":"2023-12-08T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T00:00:00","slug":"so-you-want-a-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.talentweb.com.au\/so-you-want-a-change\/","title":{"rendered":"SO YOU WANT A CHANGE IN 2019 \u2013 BUT WILL YOU BE PROACTIVE?"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<h4><strong>Coming to work this morning \u2013 as compared to last week \u2013 it was immediately apparent that the majority of Australia\u2019s work force were back on deck for 2019\u2026\u2026welcome aboard people!!<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Now \u2013 I am certain that if I spoke to everyone individually there would be at least a third who would like a new role, and a new challenge, in 2019\u2026..but how many of them will actually take action?\u00a0 How many do you reckon?\u00a0 I reckon about half of that 33% will actually act on the desire for change and why will the other half not act?\u00a0 Because they won\u2019t take time to make a plan.<\/p>\n<p>These things don\u2019t happen via osmosis \u2013 you need to be engaged, proactive, disciplined and tactical to generate change.\u00a0 Whilst each journey is individual, try the steps below to get yourself on the path to a brave new world in 2019:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Put time in your diary to think thoroughly about your reasons for change.\u00a0 List your top three reasons for a move.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>See if those three reasons can be satisfied in your current role.\u00a0 Have you ever spoken with your boss and articulated what you would like to change in your current role and given them the opportunity to provide options for you?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If you are determined to leave, write down what you are looking for.\u00a0 Visualise the role, industry, location, culture etc of what you are looking for and commit that to paper.\u00a0 Work out where you are prepared to deviate from the goal and where you are not.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Don\u2019t obsess about a timeline, pressure on timing will force you to make bad decisions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Get yourself out there!!
